Worthy Burger, part 2

I’m late with this post, but the memories are still fresh so here we go!

I did visit Worthy Burger again on my return visit to Vermont to pick up the bassoon from its annual maintenance (it passed its check-up with flying colors and even has a sturdy new key spring to replace a wonky old one). Once again, I arrived before they opened to ensure a spot at the bar (faster service / no standing in line to order).

While they were their typical busy by the time I left, it was a very slow ramp up from just me. I was particularly interested by a couple mentioning that they were visiting this area and had tried to do WB the night before (Friday evening) but could barely get in the door! People know a good spot for food and beer when they see one 🙂

I started this visit as I did the last one, with a pint of Bonkers from Good Measure Brewing in Vermont. This is a red ale made with rye mash and with added coffee beans, so it’s dark in color and quite tasty. At 6.5%, it’s not one to drink all day long, but it’s a good one to wake up the taste buds and get you going.

That was followed with a pale ale from Fiddlehead Brewing in Vermont called Brad on the Dance Floor. Unusual name, but those are all part of the pleasure of discovering new craft beers, right? This one was 5.6% and while enjoyable, would have been even better had I reversed the order and had it before the Bonkers.

Finally, I ended with a milk stout from yet another Vermont brewery, Upper Pass. I’d had this one either last summer or the summer before and enjoyed it; it had been beckoning to me both weeks this year, so why not? It has another great name, Moove On Up, and is 5.9% and very smooth indeed.

It’s always sad to leave this place knowing that it will be another year before I’m back, but at least I grabbed a couple of photos to share (the first has the Bonkers in it). I’m seated at the end of the bar with a straight view into the kitchen where the wood-fired grill is on the right just past the young lady washing her hands. You also get a view (unintended) of condiment containers — in addition to normal ketchup and mustard, they set out pesto mayo, sriracha mayo, sriracha ketchup, and one other that I don’t recall. What a great, laid-back place to eat and drink!
