Knotty Pine Brewing, Columbus OH

It was rather dark indoors so I didn’t bother with any photos. I’d been here once before and remembered it as having good beer and OK food. Today, the food and the beer were both OK but the service was severely lacking (other than the food coming out of the kitchen quite promptly). This last fact was quite odd given the lack of other patrons. Perhaps they know something I don’t …

It had been a long day and I was tired, so I only had a couple of beers. The first was a Gose with a strong taste of coconut, not my favorite flavor to find in a beer; it was from Platform Brewing and is called Life Itself. Number two was a pretty decent Kölsch from Restoration Brewing, called Sun Sipping.

Dinner was a house-smoked beef brisket with cheese and mushrooms on a French baguette with au jus for dipping.

Maybe I was just too tired after the day’s drive to fully enjoy the visit, but I’ll probably give this one a miss in the future and head back to one of my other favorite haunts in Columbus.

Tomorrow, on to Effing Brew in Effingham IL!
