Loveland CO – The Tilted Barrel
I was here last year and returned because the owner had given me his business card with “20% off” written on the back. That alone wouldn’t have been enough, though … I definitely enjoyed this place last year. The enjoyment is purely about the beer, though, as the food – while good – is not as good is it could be.
They have a great draft list, but I was surprised to see only one of theirs on it this time:

I was initially told that I couldn’t order a flight – all the flight glasses had been either stolen or broken – but when I mentioned that to the owner when he stopped by my table, he told the bartender to just use the 10oz glasses and fill them halfway 🙂

From left to right, these are:
Patchwork (golden ale) – tasty 🙂
Crabtree blonde ale – truly something I could drink all day!
Grimm Brothers – good, but the alcohol was far too prominent for my taste
Loveland – a decent enough sour, but nothing terribly fantastic about it
Sad Panda – this coffee stout was every bit as good as I recall from last year 🙂
Verboten – a very tasty porter
And to end with, I opted for a pint of the Crabtree Deerfield Ale. That one was truly a marvelous session beer and eminently drinkable.
