The Mitten Brewing Company, Saugatuck MI
Saugatuck MI – The Mitten Brewing Company
In case you aren’t up on geography, the lower part of Michigan is shaped like a mitten — hence, the name of this brewpub!
It’s a tiny little place in a very touristy town, so I was surprised to chance upon a parking space right out front (I feel like I won the lottery!) and had no problem getting a table. They do a flight of up to 6, and they happened to have just 6 beers that I was interested in trying. Here’s a photo of the beer list as well as of the flight, and I think you can make the connection to the description of each beer except for the Kölsch, which had been put on to replace the League of Their Own that had run out.

Everything in the flight was good, but I was particularly enchanted by the Mango Gold just because it was so unusual and refreshing, so that’s what I had as a follow-up pint.
Their food menu is small, focusing primarily on pizzas. I think there were also some salads and maybe three different sandwiches and a handful of appetizers. I haven’t had much pizza on this trip, so that’s what I went for:

That’s a 12-incher and normally far more than I can eat in one meal, but the ingredients were fresh and tasty, so by ignoring the edge crusts I was able to get the whole thing down (with the help of the beer, of course). A lot of the available topping options were vegetarian and vegan, so there was truly something for everyone at this little place.
I don’t think I’ll put it on a list for a potential return visit, but it certainly was worth the stop on this trip.
