Liquid State Brewing, Ithaca NY
Ithaca NY – Liquid State Brewing
This is another industrial style location but without much in the way of food. I picked up a great sandwich at Shortstop Deli in Ithaca and ate it with my beer.

The next two photos are of the beer list to give you background info on what I was drinking:

As I prefer to, I started off with a fight. The beers are, left to right, in the order of the checked-off beers on the first page of the list.

It’s a funny thing about the Gose — I didn’t like it all that much while I was sipping it, but once it was gone I was sorry there wasn’t more! The Maibock was a bit on the hoppy side (keeping in mind that I’m not a real hops lover) but still quite refreshing. The Black Lager was by far my favorite of the four, and as you’ll see later, I did do a full pint of it. And the porter was very good, but didn’t stand out from all the porters I’ve had in other places. It was perfectly fine, though.
Once these were done, I decided to have the Daypack Saison, and much to my delight, I loved it! It was really refreshing and a wonderful taste.

And finally, I just had to have more of the Black Lager. Isn’t that just a marvelous color?

While drinking this last pint, I looked outside to discover a huge downpour of rain! I was a little concerned that I might have to drink more beer to kill time … but weather radar showed me that the (temporary) end of the rain would probably coincide with the end of the pint, and so it did.
While Liquid State Brewing doesn’t displace either Blind Tiger or Guardian at the top of my list of brewpubs from this trip, it’s definitely a place I would return to if I’m ever in the Ithaca area!
