Beer Tree Brew – Farm, Port Crane NY

This is a relatively new spot near Binghamton and I’m strongly considering stopping at their other location on the way home in 4 weeks rather than my old haunt of Fire & Food BBQ. We’ll see …

Beer Tree is not just a great name (that image, though!) but a pleasant place with lots of room and great beer. I only had two pints, but both were tasty although the second really hit the spot. My first was the Hallo Pils, very drinkable and with an unusual flavor that I couldn’t quite identify. The second, the Fresh Vibes NEIPA, was beautifully hazy and fruity in all the right ways! If it hadn’t been 7.1%, I probably would have gone for a second even though I was quite full from the food at that point.

Their menu is small but the quality of the food was excellent. I had a burger that came standard with lettuce, tomato, onions, cheese, bacon, and garlic aioli on a pretzel bun. It smelled so, so good when it arrived at the table! I was going to get a photo of it, but it was gone too quickly. The normal side is a bag of Cracked Pepper and Lime kettle chips, quite tasty, and actually a clever choice for them as I found it made me rather thirsty.

I’d honestly planned to stop there with the food, but broke down and had an ice cream sandwich, the only dessert on the menu. This was two homemade chocolate chip cookies with about 1.5″ of vanilla ice cream packed between them … decadent and filling, both.

Their other beers were an interesting mix of sours and IPAs; nothing else really caught my eye, although I do wish in retrospect that I’d gone for a flight to see if others were as good. Still, I certainly don’t regret my choices, especially that wonderful Fresh Vibes 🙂
