Weldwerks Brewing, Greeley CO

I visited Weldwerks three years ago and liked them, and I’m staying in Greeley tonight, so … why not?

They’re only 16 minutes from the hotel, so off I went for a flight. They’ve moved the entrance to their parking lot, requiring a few minutes more to go “around the block” and get tangled up in dead end streets that don’t show as such on the map, but I arrived.

Three years ago, they had an indoor space and a smaller outdoor space. Now, they’ve added huge tents which at least triple the space available for customers (if you’re willing to sit outdoors in the heat … I’m not).

But alas, my plans for a flight were foiled – the refrigeration unit for their keg cooler had failed, so no flights. The only thing they could do was a full pour from one of the cans they had in an upright cooler. I opted for their Juicy Bits, a New England IPA and (according to my server) the beer that put them on the map. It was tasty, but not life-changing, to be perfectly honest. After that one, I headed back to the hotel; tomorrow is a long drive to Sioux City IA.
