North High Brewery, Dublin OH
North High has a few locations in the area, but this is the one located on North High Street from which they got their name. Or, as their glasses proclaim, “Beer so good they named the street after us!”
The building looks small from the outside, but has a lot of space on two levels indoors plus a lot more outdoor area than the tiny bit you see in one of these photos.

Naturally, I started with a flight but was disappointed that one of the four beers I wanted had kicked. However, I liked all four that I did have, so that was a good ending to that story!

From left to right, these are:
Yeoman Helles Lager, 5.2% – this is one of their flagship beers, available year-round, and it was quite good. I do wish the Cover Crop Blonde Ale hadn’t kicked though, as I generally prefer one of those to a Helles.
Five Pale Ale, 5.5% – I really liked this one and it was definitely in the running for a follow-up pint.
Shandy (with Blackberry), 4.5% – this one was funny in that I absolutely loved it at first, but by the time I got to the end of the glass, I knew I wouldn’t want a full pint – it was just too sweet. It certainly was an interesting take on a shandy, though, and a pleasant change (for a while) from the traditional lemon!
Falutin Hazy IPA, 6% – now this was the one that grew on me the more I sipped it, and it was the one I chose for a pint. It was exceptionally well-balanced, with a brilliant fruity flavor, just-right hop presence, and all-around pleasant taste for a sunny summer day. If only they’d sold crowlers, I’m sure I’d have taken one away with me for later.
For food, I had their standard double hamburger with fries, and while it was perfectly good, I didn’t bother with a photo.
Tomorrow, I think I’ll be visiting one of my top favorite haunts here, Schmidt’s Sausage Haus in German Village 🙂 But I’ll also take a trip to Cincinnati to check out Jungle Jim’s at Eastgate and see what they have available in the apparently massive beer department … look them up online!
