Schmidt’s Sausage Haus, German Village, Columbus OH

Summer 2022 Trip, Day 2

Schmidt’s is an old favorite of mine since I first found it a few years ago. It’s an old family restaurant in the middle of the iconic German Village section of old Columbus.

I’ve gotten into somewhat of a rut over the last few visits, starting with a Paulaner Oktoberfest:

Then their Wiener Schnitzel with German Potato Salad and Red Cabbage:

Which naturally leads to their Haus Dark beer, brewed by Rheingeist:

And a Vanilla Cream Puff to go for later (shown with a fork for scale!):

So just two different beers, but a great dinner at a favorite restaurant. Tomorrow will bring other choices, perhaps at Grove City Brewing if not also at Crooked Can (another old favorite).
