Green Valley Brewing Company, Hudson OH
9 October 2026

Green Valley is in an unobtrusive building with the only signage being at one of the driveway entrances, but there’s a lot of space indoors plus a large outdoor area. The inside photo shows about half of the room I was in, and there was another room probably of the same size to the right of the entry.
They don’t offer flights, but they do both 8- and 16-ounce pours of their beers so I did two pairs of 8oz pours plus food. Here’s the first pair:

Oktoberfest – Märzen, 6% – This is the beer on the left and not at all a copper-colored Oktoberfest! But the flavor was great with a nice zing right off the bat with a pleasant malty taste following.
Keep It Simple – SMASH Pale Ale, 6% – “SMASH” stands for Single Malt and Single Hop, a technique brewers often use to test the flavors imparted by different strains of yeast. I liked this, but not as much as I’d hoped to — I think the lower complexity of the grain/hop bill robbed this of taste interest..

Food was a grilled cheese with pulled pork (and a lot of it at that!) with chips. It was good pub food and very filling, but nowhere near the quality of the Old Dog Alehouse food from yesterday.

Loose Caboose – Belgian Wheat, 6.2% – This was a good wheat beer but I didn’t taste “Belgian” in it.
Hazy Daze – Hazy IPA, 6.7% – This was also a good beer, but it wasn’t spectacular.
All in all, Green Valley was a good place to stop but I was spoiled by the previous day’s visit to Old Dog. Even at 1:30-2pm, though, they were doing a light but steady business so they’re clearly enjoyed by many in their area. Good for them!
