Chatham Brewing Company, Chatham NY

11 October 2026

It was raining when I arrived and there was a lot of traffic as well as a surprising number of people at the brewery, so I didn’t get any outside photos. Here’s one inside shot though, showing most of the interior. They also have an outdoor area that’s fully protected from the elements by tenting.

Even though the place wasn’t full, the bartenders were kept very busy filling orders! I sat at the bar and started with this flight, described left to right:

Oktoberfest – Märzen, 5.5% – This was a very pleasant beer, not something that particularly stood out through interesting flavors, but definitely one that could be enjoyed over and over without tiring of it.

Czech’rd Past – Czech Pilsner, 4.5% – Much to my surprise, this was actually much more flavorful than the Kolsch. Part of me wonders if the bartender accidentally swapped the two … but it was definitely enjoyable.

Kolsch – Kölsch, 5.5% – Strangely less flavorful than the pilsner, but still nice.

Clipp’ah – Session IPA, 4.5% – Here is another beer that would go down far too quickly!

There really weren’t any losers in this flight, and there were another nine beers, a hard seltzer, and a cider on the tap list that I didn’t even get to try!

I ordered from their Oktoberfest specials menu and didn’t regret it one bit — this is local bratwurst with sauerkraut and a cold potato salad. I was a bit surprised that the brat was pre-cut, but it saved me some time so all was good, and the stone-ground mustard was a perfect accompaniment to everything.

Chatham Brewing is definitely going on my list of places to return to when I get a chance! It was a great place to stop on this day’s drive.
