Arbor Brewing Company Corner Brewery, Ypsilanti MI

30 September 2024

“Corner Brewery” is what Arbor Brewing calls the taproom at their main location and it’s a big space both outdoors and in (not all of the indoor area is visible in these photos!

For this visit, I decided to ask the bartender what he recommended I pick for a flight and he didn’t steer me wrong! They don’t have flight boards, sadly, but on the other hand, you can get as few or as many 4 oz pours as you want. Left to right:

Tymbal Pale Ale – Lager, 4.7% – Believe it or not, this isn’t the lightest of their beers; they have one even lighter that I was told is suggested when someone says they like Miller Lite or the like! Tymbal really surprised me — it was flavorful and satisfying, one of the nicest of its kind I’ve ever had.

Euchre – Pilsner, 5.2% – Clearly, they have the whole flavor thing figured out! This is also an excellent Pilsner, very tasty, and the favorite of the two bartenders as well.

Oktoberfest – Märzen, 5.5% – Another winner, just not as satisfying on my palate as the first two, but a solid beer.

Harvest – Fresh Hopped IPA, 6.0% – After the other three, I expected to really enjoy this one as well and I did, but one of the four has to be the least favorite and today, this was the one.

Those were not big hot dogs, but once you throw in the chili and onions and buns and fries, this was a lot of food. It was quite tasty if rather messy (but they provided more than enough napkins to get through it all!).

The Pilsner was the winner for a pint to finish up with, and I also splurged on a piece of Banana Cake, a most interesting and very delicious dessert.

I’ve never had Arbor Brewing’s beers before but I’m happy I was able to try them today. They’ll certainly be on my list for a possible return visit the next time I’m near Ann Arbor.
