The Library Sports Grille & Brewery, Laramie WY
26 July 2026

The Library is an unassuming little place with a great logo because who doesn’t love Sherlock Holmes? Inside is a mixture of barely-updated open space with a lovely library-like feel at one end (which is where I was seated). I think there’s an actual bar as well but if so, it was in a separate room and not visible from where I sat.
I started with this flight, described left-to-right:

Steamboat Oats & Cream – Stout, 5.9% – While very good, it was basically just an oatmeal milk stout. I would have liked it even better if it had been nitro-pushed, but it was tasty as it was.
Peyroni – Pilsner, 4.5% – Pilsners come in a variety of flavors but few are ones that I could drink all day long. This particular pilsner is absolutely perfect, really a pleasant flavor without anything that would make you regret that “just one more.”
Big Nose – ESB (English Special Bitter), 5.0% – I was honestly surprised by this beer because I didn’t feel there was much of anything British or ESB about it! What it was, though, was a very good beer with a subtle but interesting flavor that leaves you wanting more.
Devil’s Tower – Honey Amber Ale, 5.5% – This was a mix-up in the order but I didn’t mind because this was such a good honey ale. The beer itself was very tasty and pleasant, and the honey flavor was just right, not over the top as some honey ales are.

Because this was the first place I’ve stopped on this trip that had pizzas, I had to try one here. This was purportedly just 10″, but I’m thinking it was more like 12″ and with so many toppings loaded on, I could not finish the entire pie. The veggies were all fresh and overall, this was a really pleasant dinner.

I finished with a sample and a pint:
Tart Cherry – Cherry Ale, 4.5% – As soon as I tasted this one I wished I’d had a full pour (13oz) of it. Somehow, the brewer was able to make this all about the tart cherry flavor without turning it into a sour, and it’s one of the most unique beers I’ve had (and I loved it besides!). There was no “pucker” to it, just pure tart cherry flavor.
Wye HazE – IPA, 5.9% – This was worth ordering simply for the wording on the glass! But the beer itself was also a surprise because it was almost exactly the same taste experience as the Beachin’ IPA from yesterday’s Second Meal™️ at Salt Mine City Brewing in Lincoln NE. What a shock that was! I really enjoyed it, but still secretly wished I’d had more of the Tart Cherry instead …
All in all, The Library was a pleasant stop. I’d originally planned to revisit Altitude Chophouse & Brewery but it’s closed on Sundays. I certainly don’t regret stumbling on The Library instead.
