TiltWürks Brewhouse & Casino, Miles City MT
3 August 2026
Well, let’s face it — EVERYTHING has a casino in Montana … so it’s no surprise this brewpub has one just past the bathrooms.

The name of this brewery doesn’t make much sense until you get inside and realize that it’s all about pinball — the bar is glass-topped and has a ton of pinball machine parts on display, and above the bar are lighted panels from pinball machines!
I arrived at a good time and was able to try all of their beers in two flights. They also have some “guest taps” but those are unmentionables (Coors Light, Bud Light, etc.). Here’s my first flight, and aren’t these flight trays a great design and beautifully made?

Bang Back Blueberry – Blueberry Wheat Ale, 4.9% – The bartender said this is their most popular draft and it’s easy to see why – it’s sweet and has a mild blueberry presence making this a good beer for someone who isn’t ready for more intense craft brews. I liked the subtle blueberry flavor but found it a wee bit too sweet for anything but a dessert beer.
Cap’n Keogh – Cream Ale, 4.4% – There wasn’t anything to dislike about this cream ale but it wasn’t very interesting either. What it was though was just a really great, neutral beer with good mouthfeel that would be refreshing all day.
B.A.D. (Blondes Aren’t Dumb) – Blonde Ale, 4.5% – I was surprised by this one, mostly pleasantly. It was a lot more edgy than most blonde ales I’ve had, with enough bitterness to get your attention while still being refreshing. I’m not sure I’d want a pint of it, though.
High Score – Hefeweizen, 5.4% – This was my favorite of these four although for me it leaned more to the Belgian Witbier side than to a German Hefeweizen. Still, it was tasty.
Food was two soft-shell tacos with ground beef, beans, and a side salad. The beans were good but not a style I’ve had before; I liked them but would have to try them again to decide if I love them. The salad and tacos were both very good, and those tacos are FULL of ground beef — you can’t see from this photo how much there really is!
And here is my second flight:

Wedge Head = White IPA, 5.8% – This isn’t a style you run across often, but it was good. They call it a “careful marriage between an American IPA and a Belgian Wit” and I can see that in the taste — it was very well done.
All American Hopsicle – American IPA, 6.5% – In spite of the name, this was not overly hoppy. They brew it with Cascade, Chinook, and Mosaic hops, and it pairs very nicely with food.
Scootland – Scotch Ale, 5.3% – This was one of the maltier scotch ales I’ve had with strong toffee flavors. It was good, but I’m not sure I could do a full pint.
Golden Triangle – Wheat Ale, 5.4% – From their beer list: “The Golden Triangle in MT is known for producing some of the world’s finest wheat. Our Golden Triangle Wheat beer is a salute to the Golden Triangle farmers.” Much to my surprise, this was my top favorite of the eight even though I really liked many of the others. This particular wheat beer has a very interesting flavor and I would love to know what yeast they use to produce that.
Even though Miles City is not somewhere I’m dying to return to, TiltWürks will nonetheless go on my list of favorite brewpubs that I hope to get to again someday. The beer, the food, the decor — all are wonderful.
